Art 2008 - 13th Annual Juried Art show
The annual juried art exhibition at the Harlow Gallery draws artists to Hallowell from all over the state of Maine. Join us for the opening celebration on May 9th to experience great artwork from all corners of the state. Free and open to the public, refreshments will be served. $1200 in prize money will be awarded to artists in an awards ceremony beginning at 6:30 PM Friday, May 9th at the opening celebration of Art2008.

ArtTalk Painting with Soft Pastel

The monthly series continues with a demonstration of pastel techniques presented by Sally Loughridge of South Bristol. Remember drawing with colored chalks on the sidewalk and then watching the rain wash away your designs? Rediscover the fun of making chalk marks as you learn about using soft pastels to make expressive, long lasting paintings. Sally will demonstrate her process of composing, underpainting, starting and developing a soft pastel painting on a hand prepared panel.This event is free and open to the public.
