The Great Kennebec River Whatever Family Festival in Capitol park, now celebrating 30 consecutive years!
The last Saturday of June brings over 85 events and activities to the park, musical presentations, dancing, balloons, hands-on activities, and much more!

Begun in 1978, the Whatever Family Festival commemorates the cleanup of the Kennebec River and celebrates the people and environment of the river communities. Thanks to the many businesses and organizations that support this unique series of festivities. Nearly all activities are free of charge, including a Saturday night concert.
From the kickoff in Gardiner, to the fireworks at Waterfront Park in Augusta on July 4th, it will be fun for people of all ages!
