2011 Whatever Family Festival and Kids Day
150 Events run from Wednesday, June 15 to Monday, July 4, 2011.
The Great Kennebec River Whatever Family Festival and Kids Day in Capitol Park*, now celebrating 34 consecutive years!
Saturday, June 25th, brings 80 events and activities to Capitol Park*, with musical presentations, dancing, balloons, hands-on
activities, and much more!
* Due to extremely wet conditions in Capitol Park, we have moved the event to
the Augusta Civic Center (rain or shine). All times and events remain the same. In the event of rain the B98.5 Texaco Country
Showdown will move to Buker Center. Click on PDF (below) for additional information.
Begun in 1978, the Whatever Family Festival commemorates the cleanup of the Kennebec River and celebrates the people and environment of the river communities. Thanks to the many businesses and organizations that support this unique series of festivities. Nearly all activities are free of charge, including several waterfront concerts and July 4th activities.
From the kickoff in Gardiner, to the fireworks at Waterfront Park in Augusta on July 4th, it will be fun for people of all ages!
