Introduction to QuickBooks 

This free, two-part QuickBooks workshop is designed for newcomers to the software. You will learn basic and essential QuickBooks tools such as setting up a company profile, invoicing, payroll and more.   

The instructors will utilize the PC Windows Desktop Version, Accountant Edition, of the software to demonstrate these concepts, where students can follow along with their own laptops.  (Please note: we only have two loaner laptops available for students who use do not have the PC Windows Desktop Version of QuickBooks on a portable device. Please inquire when registering).

Students may also pose general questions about the software for the instructors and fellow students to discuss. This is also an excellent opportunity for students to benefit from networking with other small businesses.

The Presenters:

Becky Adams

 An associate with Austin Associates, Ms. Adams has been with the firm since 2005.

She is a 2006 graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta, earning her B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting and plans to become a CPA.  She also received her certification as a Quickbooks ProAdvisor in May 2005 and has maintained her certification each year.

Becky is responsible for the full scope of tax and accounting needs of partnerships, individuals, corporations and S-corporations in multiple industries. Working collaboratively with a group of colleagues at the firm, Becky is involved with many clients within the agricultural industries.

Prior to joining the Firm, Becky worked for a small accounting firm in Turner, Maine for two years.

She graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1997 and resides in Canton with her husband, Travis and their sons, Austin and Brady.

Linda Brackett

As a bookkeeper, Linda joined the firm in 2015.

Prior to joining the firm, Linda worked as a bookkeeper for the Catholic Churches in the Lewiston/Auburn area for 20 years. She also worked in public accounting for 15 years as a bookkeeper and assisted with audits and income tax preparation.

She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1979.

Linda enjoys cooking for her family and walking with her two dogs. She resides in Auburn with her husband Richard and their two children Shawn & Andrea.

Space is limited so please register by Wednesday, September 5th.This workshop requires you to bring your own PC laptop and we will install a temporary QuickBooks Accountant 2015 license for these two classes so please come to the first class by 9:00 am. If you have Quickbooks Pro 2015 that you are using, please bring your PC laptop with this installed. Please let us know if you do not have a PC laptop to use.
