We want to hear from you!

The Maine State Museum is working on a new exhibit! It’s about quilts, about history, about community, and about the comfort we get from special objects. And we want to hear from you about something special that you treasure and gives you comfort.

We invite visitor of all ages to come to the museum on Saturday, January 26, 2019 between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. And we especially want to hear from families and kids!

For free admission, please bring that special something that brings you comfort - a blanket, a baby quilt, a toy, a stuffed animal (please no live animals or weapons).

While at the museum participants will have a chance to take a picture with their special object and then try out our video kiosk and record what makes their comfort item so special. In the future we will be posting videos on our website, and using some of the stories in our new exhibit, Comfort and Community: 250 Years of Maine Quilts, opening in July 2020!

Remember admission is free for folks who bring in and share their treasured belonging with the museum. This is open to everyone, but we are especially interested in hearing from children.

Thank You for helping the Maine State Museum!
