Contact Gardiner Main Street,

Summer unfolds in Gardiner with two popular community events. Johnson Hall
Performing Arts Center leads off the summer festivities at Waterfront Park on June 21st with a
Battle of the Bands kicking off the Waterfront Concert Series at 7pm, followed by a dazzling
display of fireworks.

The excitement continues Saturday, June 22nd with the much-anticipated Greater
Gardiner River Festival. Activities run from 8am until 10pm. Festival organizers have continued
to find ways to celebrate life on the Kennebec River from land to shore. Activities at the
waterfront are free to the public thanks to the area’s generous sponsors with entertainment,
children's activities, food trucks, and a community organization showcase. Friends of the
Cobbossee Watershed are returning this year to provide free boat rides, a popular attraction.
Burns Bears will create incredible, detailed wood chainsaw carvings. SoKenSup will get people
on the river with stand-up paddle board demonstrations. To continue the theme of wellness and
celebrating the outdoors beyond the festival local businesses have donated bikes to be given
away to attendees. Historic Water Street will be transformed into a pedestrian mall with artists,
crafters, and specialty food vendors exhibiting their products from 10am-4pm. Double Entendre’,
The Pat Pepin Project, and Runaway Home will perform live on the Waterfront Stage. The
evening will wrap up with the popular Kennebec Savings Bank Talent Show and conclude with
Fireworks from Greater Gardiner Federal Credit Union.

The Greater Gardiner River Festival is organized by Gardiner Main Street and made
possible with financial support from Dominos, Kennebec Savings Bank, Gardiner Federal Credit
Union, Wellness Connection of Maine, Randolph Hardware, American Legion Smith Wiley Post
4, G&E Roofing, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Kennebec Valley.
