The Harlow presents Young at Art, the 16th annual exhibition of children’s artwork on view February 23-March 23 at 100 Water Street in Hallowell. During this exhibition students from kindergarten through 8th grade have their work on display in the professional setting of The Harlow.

Young at Art will coincide with 50 Years of Art: a solo retrospective exhibition highlighting the work of local artist and art educator Barbara Loken. 50 Years of Art is on view February 15-March 23 in the upstairs gallery at The Harlow.

Each year The Harlow invites art teachers from elementary and middle schools from throughout the greater Augusta area to select their best student art to showcase in this community celebration of talented art students and of the importance of arts in education. 2019 marks the third year that the gallery is integrating homeschool student artwork in the Young at Art exhibit. Please join us in celebrating the youngest artists in our community – families with children especially encouraged to attend.

NOTE: Due to the high volume of visitors for the opening reception for Young at Art, the Gallery asks that participating artists and their families attend according to the following schedule. Families with more than one artist participating can choose to attend whichever time works best for them. Visitors not affiliated with a participating artist are welcome anytime between 11am-3:30pm:
