Event & Conference Services Assistant

Thomas College, located in the revitalized town of Waterville, ME which is mid-way between the beautiful coast and mountains of Maine as well as Maine’s largest city, is a private, not-for-profit business and liberal arts college offering a guaranteed job program to its graduates. Thomas College seeks a dedicated, motivated, professional to serve as an assistant in the Event & Conference Services department. This individual will play a key role in supporting all the department’s operations, with a primary focus on athletics. Responsibilities include overseeing outside athletics practices/events as well the planning and execution of non-athletic events.

Knowledge with athletics preferred. Must be a self-starter, deadline driven, and able to adapt and manage multiple and changing priorities. Excellent interpersonal, time management, communication, and writing skills required; ability to work in a team environment; strong problem-solving skills needed.

Prior experience with members of the general public, including one to two years of event planning required. Four-year college degree preferred. An understanding of accounting, contract administration, and familiarity with Microsoft Office products desired. Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as necessary.

This is a year-round part-time position of 19 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends are required.
