Thomas College is seeking an innovative and creative minded individual for the role of Graphic Designer, Web, Multimedia, and Print. This role will be key in the planning, development, and production of marketing materials to support the college’s marketing objectives and key audiences. Working with a cross section of the college’s leadership, the Graphic Designer will ensure brand fidelity and consistency across materials and platforms. The Graphic Designer is a key member of the Marcomm team, working closely with the Senior Director, Media Relations, and Web and Digital Marketing teams.
The position requires flexibility in working hours, including the availability to work nights and/or weekends on occasion. Manage student workers and interns as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and production of key marketing and communication materials including the Thomas Magazine, Annual Report, viewbooks, travel pieces, and other print and digital pieces. They will assist with the building and implementation of communications strategies that support Thomas’ overall Admissions (recruitment) and Advancement (development) goals. They will assist in the development, curation, and maintenance of the college’s digital asset management program. Including student, alumni, and faculty stories, photography, and other digital and print assets. They will meaningfully and consistently contribute to Thomas College’s visual and editorial identity and perform other marketing duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, deadline driven, plan and manage priorities strategically, and meet deadlines in a in a fast-paced environment. They should have an understanding of and ability to optimize UX using data to make informed production decisions. They should have experience/understanding of designing for mobile, social, and third-party platforms, e.g. WordPress. Experience managing the production of printed materials including print vendor selection and production management. Strong photography skills and working knowledge of the Adobe Suite of programs (including InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere), Microsoft Office 365 including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher.
They require strong written and verbal communication skills with public speaking experience preferred and a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of proven ability designing, producing, and maintaining print and digital materials with a communications and marketing background.
