The 10th Annual Womens Clinic is brought to you by The Central Maine NEMBA Dirt Divas; a women's group dedicated to helping more women get involved in the sport of mountain biking. The goal of this clinic is to give women riders valuable skills for their riding and build a better community of female riders in the region.
The groups will be separated based on self-determined riding level. This is not a determination of fitness, but more of your comfort on a bike and technical riding ability in mixed terrain. Please note that you must provide your own bike and helmet.

Today begins our celebration of 23 years of C&C Realty Management.I've had the privilege of being part of that journey since 2005, and during that time I've watched affordable housing evolve throughout Maine. But after more than two decades in this industry, I've come to believe the true measure of affordable housing isn't when it's built. It is whether it's still serving residents decades later. That doesn't happen by accident.
It happens because property managers, maintenance professionals, resident service coordinators, compliance specialists, accountants, occupancy teams, owners, and industry partners show up every day to solve problems, support residents, strengthen communities, and protect housing that people depend on.

PALS Cat Shelter is excited to announce a new statewide initiative launching in August 2026: a low-cost spay/neuter mobile clinic (“Spay/Neuter Rig”) that will travel throughout Maine, bringing accessible and affordable veterinary services directly to communities across the state.
This program is designed to reduce barriers to care, support responsible pet ownership, and help control the growing population of stray and unwanted animals in both rural and urban areas.

Patrisha McLean was the guest speaker at the June 9 Rotary Club of Augusta. She shared how she started the statewide nonprofit Finding Our Voices following the domestic violence arrest of her then-husband of 29 years, and how Finding Our Voices now supports women survivors with such programs as financial aid, donated dental care, a weekly online support group, and "Healing Together" retreats.

The Augusta Colonial Theater in downtown Augusta has officially begun its stage area restoration and expansion project, marking a major milestone in the effort to bring the historic venue back to life.
Supported by $1.5 million in federal funding secured with the help of Senators Collins and King, construction is now underway with JF Scott leading the project.
Originally opened in 1913, the Augusta Colonial Theater served as a movie house for decades and remains one of Augusta’s most recognizable landmarks. The current phase of renovations includes expanding the stage, improving backstage access, increasing overhead fly space, and preparing for future enhancements such as a loading dock.
These upgrades are designed to support live performances and help transform the building into a fully operational cultural center for the community.
As progress continues, the project represents an exciting investment in downtown Augusta and its future as a destination for arts, entertainment, and community events.

Doors open at 8:00 am, with registration from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.

Get ready for Summer with the ASO!
We'll kick things off with our 3rd annual Maine Capital Fourth! This exciting partnership with the Augusta Civic Center is a family-friendly, rain or shine, free event to celebrate community and music together on July 4th. This year, we will be joined by Coda Chorus to add some extra special vocal pieces to our concert lineup! The event starts at 2pm. For the first hour, enjoy music from small ensembles while also playing a game of cornhole, giving in to tempting concession stand food, getting some facepainting done, trying out an orchestral instrument for the first time at our instrument "petting zoo," or entering to have a chance to play with the orchestra or even conduct a piece. Then at 3pm, sit back and enjoy the concert!
This event is all about enjoying a lovely afternoon together, and thanks to your generous support and the support of the Augusta Civic Center, it is a donation-only, free of admission event! Parking is plentiful, the air conditioning is turned up, and the music is familiar and fun!
Later this summer, we'll hold our second annual Augusta Symphony Soirée! This intimate chamber concert and evening gathering, which will have Maestro Park joining us in the ranks as a player, will be held in the Fireside Lounge at UMA on Friday, August 21st at 7pm. Items not accepted include electronics, recyclables, textiles, trash, pharmaceuticals, commercial waste, explosives, ammunition, and asbestos-containing materials.

In this leadership role, the Dohertys will steward UWKV’s long-running community investment effort. As a couple deeply rooted in Kennebec Valley, they will serve as connectors, helping to bring people, businesses, and organizations together to fuel the collective effort behind this year’s campaign theme: “United is the Way.”
Katie, president & CEO of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Chris, a golf professional at Brunswick Golf Club, live in Gardiner with their two children, Scarlett and Grayson. Together, they offer a strong track record of leadership, local knowledge, and a shared commitment to strengthening Kennebec Valley. Their responsibilities will include expanding workplace and community giving, growing the Campaign Champions network, and aligning business, nonprofit, school, and civic leaders around UWKV’s mission of uniting people and resources to improve lives in our community.

Valleepalooza, the annual concert fundraiser to benefit the Travis Mills Foundation, returns to the Thomas College Ice Vault outdoor field on Saturday, July 26, 2026. This year the event will run from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, and will feature the return of one of the most talked about Valleepalooza openers, The Eric Grant Band. Making their debut on the Valleepalooza stage this year is Portland-based Americana rock act The Mallett Brothers Band, led by brothers Luke and Will Mallett. Both acts will be opening for the legendary former guitarist and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Don Felder, best known with his decades of performing with the Eagles.
Along with great music, Valleepalooza features a selection of local Maine food trucks, as well as a beer & wine garden by The Quarry Tap Room. A family-friendly event, bounce houses and cornhole will be available for the kids!

Thomas College will host its Adult Working Canine Training Camp July 19–24, 2026, on campus in Waterville.
This five-day immersive program is open to both new and experienced handlers, as well as those interested in fields such as search-and-rescue, detection, sport competition, and therapeutic service.
Participants are encouraged to attend with their canine partners, with observer spots also available. The camp will be led by canine experts Dr. Mark Marsolais and David Brownell.
