Today begins our celebration of 23 years of C&C Realty Management.I've had the privilege of being part of that journey since 2005, and during that time I've watched affordable housing evolve throughout Maine. I've watched developments take shape, financing come together, buildings rise, and communities begin.
And all of those things matter.
But after more than two decades in this industry, I've come to believe the true measure of affordable housing isn't when it's built. It is whether it's still serving residents decades later. That doesn't happen by accident.
It happens because property managers, maintenance professionals, resident service coordinators, compliance specialists, accountants, occupancy teams, owners, and industry partners show up every day to solve problems, support residents, strengthen communities, and protect housing that people depend on.
Development is often the headline. Property management is the story that gets written every day afterward.
As we celebrate C&C's 23rd anniversary this week, I hope you'll join me in recognizing the housing professionals whose work often happens quietly—but whose impact lasts for generations.Housing doesn't preserve itself. People do.
