Artist Matt Demers of Gardiner presents a week-long exhibition of his artwork displayed in a 8,000+ square foot vacant retail space located at 17 Marketplace Drive at the Marketplace at Augusta next to Regal Cinema. The pop-up show is on view June 17 through June 24, 2016. The public is invited to attend an opening reception and meet the artist on Friday, June 17 from 5:30 - 10:00 PM. The exhibition features many new pieces along with work from recent years in a wide variety of sizes ranging from 18x24 inches to 6x10 feet. The opening reception will feature music by Eb3nflo of Portland.

Matt Demers is a primarily self taught artist who creates bold abstract mixed media paintings. He enjoys using vintage materials in his work, either collaged on the surface or as the foundation for the piece itself. His most recent series is created on vintage tin ceiling panels. "I've always thought about having a solo exhibition in a large vacant space. This one in particular complements my work really well and made me excited to put in the work to make this show happen."
