Roll & Go Brings Songs of the Sea to Maine State Museum

Celebrate Whatever Family Festival

The Maine State Museum in Augusta invites visitors to join us in celebrating life on the sea through the songs sailors sang for fun or to help with their work. As part of the Maine State Museum Family Fun series of events, the museum will host Roll & Go, a Maine group of men and women who love to sing “sea shanties” and other songs of the sea. Everyone will have a chance to join in the singing and learn a little about life on the sea at a time when the tall ships still sailed Maine waters. Whether you are young or old, you are bound to have a lot of fun! Performance and museum admission are free.

The Maine State Museum is open Tuesday through Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 10am-4pm, closed Sunday and Monday. Admission is $3 for adults; $2 for senior adults over age 62 and children 6-18 years of age; children under 6 free. Maximum charge for families is $10.
