poetry october second sunday

The public is invited to participate in a free poetry workshop lead by Bob McLaughlin on Sunday, October 9, 2-4pm at Harlow Gallery.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Harlow Gallery invites all to participate in October’s Second Sunday event, “Who Says You’re Not a Poet?” lead by Bob McLaughlin. The event is hosted by Harlow Gallery, located at 160 Water Street in Hallowell on Sunday, October 9 from 2 to 4pm and is open to all ages and experience levels.

“If you think you can’t write poetry, October’s Second Sunday is for you. Forget everything you think you don’t know, and just show up. Can’t spell? Forget it. Not so good with grammar? Forget it. Don’t know any poetic forms? Forget that, too. All you need is your big bag of experiences and unique way of seeing the world. The rest will take care of itself. You might even have fun.” – Bob McLaughlin

Mark your calendars and look forward to a variety of activities on the second Sunday of every month from 2-4pm at the Harlow Gallery. These events are free and open to the public. Some materials are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own as well. These workshops are opportunities to both try something new and sharpen old skills – they are open to everyone; from beginners to professional artists and everyone in between. SECOND SUNDAYS brings artists and art lovers together to enjoy the process of making art as well as looking at art and discussing it. Most events are perfect for families, and all ages are welcome. Children under 10 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

The Harlow Gallery’s Education Committee organizes and hosts SECOND SUNDAYS, our monthly series of free community art-making events which is lead by volunteer presenters and is sponsored by our hometown bank, Camden National Bank.

Harlow Gallery is currently seeking instructors for their 2017 season of Second Sunday workshops. Please contact Margo Ogden at .
