The Harlow Gallery in Hallowell is starting off the new year with plans to present an exciting schedule of art-related workshops and classes throughout the year. These consist of a Professional Development Series as well as various art workshops proposed and lead by individual artists. First in 2017’s lineup is an info session lead by Maine Arts Commission’s Kerstin Gilg on Sunday, January 15 from 2-3pm (part of the Professional Development Series), and a visual journaling workshop lead by Ingrid Ellison on Sunday, January 29 from 11am-3pm.

On Sunday, January 15 from 2-3pm Kerstin Gilg of the Maine Arts Commission (MAC) will kick off the 2017 Professional Development Workshop Series and speak about the many supports MAC offers to artists. Join us for a 30-40 minute presentation followed by Q & A. Learn and inquire about supports, grants and opportunities for artists. Bring your notebook and questions. This event is free for Harlow Gallery members or $5 for non-members.

On Sunday, January 29, from 11am-3pm Harlow Gallery presents “Jump Start your Journaling Practice”, a workshop lead by painter and arts educator Ingrid Ellison. This class is geared toward anyone, experienced or not, who wants to begin or continue working in a visual journal. Tuition is $75 per student (paid to Harlow Gallery) plus a $10 supplies fee (paid directly to instructor on the day of the event.) Registration and payment must be received in order to reserve spots in this class.
